Untrue. Male tastes run the gambit and are in fact much looser than female preferences.

You've never been to Seoul, have you?
Also ease up on the Ameribashing. It's getting really cliche. And this is coming from a Canadian. |

I do not want to start a conversation in this but Globalization means nothing else than Amerikanization (Henry Kissinger). This also includes the influences on world's cultures by the US-culture. Before everyone knew what Sushi was everyone knew what Coca Cola is, although Sushi is much healthier. So also these obsession with beauty comes from Hollywood and the USA in generall. I do not mean the American people with this. It is not their fault. They are also only victims.
I'm pretty sure "obsession with beauty" can be traced back well before the signing of the Declaration, and the other cultures influence "Amerika" the same way they are influenced by "Amerika" (as indicated by your Coca Cola-Sushi comment). While Sushi is healthier than Coca Cola, the world can also thank "Amerika" for many advances in medicine, science, and agriculture.
"Amerika" is many things good and many things no to good. Try not to do what many Europeans do and throw out the baby with the bathwater (or in this case should I say - chamber pot?). |

You're Swedish?
Or possibly English or American. Maybe even Canadian. |

As is Canada. As I sit here I'm eating a breakfast consisting of antipasto salad, kimbap, kimchi, and kofta curry and coffee - with chopsticks as my utensil. And I'm 100% European descent. |

I do not mean the American people with this. It is not their fault. They are also only victims. You do realize that America is the melting pot of most other world cultures right? Its not our fault the rest of the world follows what we do, but since most people in Hollywood get their inspiration from other cultures maybe it would be better for others to change their perception of beauty instead of blaming America right? Or is that too easy? Also don't call us victims when in the same paragraph you say that we are the ones that lead world culture (which I highly disagree with). Not, it is not that easy. It is not my opinion only. I have heard the same opinion of many people which are much smarter than me when it comes to globalization. In short it is in nearly all globalized countries or cultures the case that the American view is dominant and pushes the national cultures and views back. You see it in the daily news, in the entertainment media, in the known international goods, in the language, in the politics and many others.
Don't worry. In a decade you can whine about how "Globalization is sinoization" and the yuan-krona exchange rate.

Well there's no point in talking with you if you're going to be willfully ignorant and contrary. Have a good day. o/ |

True fact: I have never seen a jar of peanut butter with a US flag and Statue of Liberty on it. |
